Hire a professional voice over actor. 10 topics producers are looking for
Hiring a professional voice over actor is an important decision that can make or break the success of your audiovisual project. Whether it’s for a commercial, a documentary, or an animated series, choosing the right voice acting can bring your project to life and engage your audience.
Professional voice actors or dubbing talents bring a level of skill and experience to the table that cannot be matched by amateur character boys. If you want to be a good online voice-over artist you have to learn to be critical of yourself, self-direct your performance or be able to work remotely with a voice director. Because they understand how to interpret scripts, convey emotion, and use their voice to create a memorable and engaging audio experience. They also possess the technical knowledge and expertise to ensure that the audio is of the highest quality, with crystal-clear sound and no pro background noise.
One of my best performances as a voice actor
Listen to me in this voice performance I did last week for a soundtrack show called ÉPICAL. I can assure you that I gave it my best. And there were some parts that came out the first time, and others that I had to record, totally immersed in my role as narrator, more than 10 times. Until they were round, natural and with the intention the director wanted, we didn’t move on to the next one.
When you work online it’s different from when you work directed in a dubbing studio, where speed is understood as cost savings. This is sometimes counterproductive to the final quality of the performances but…the world is still moving too fast.
Create New Characters. Gandalf Mediavilla Freeman? Who said Fear?
The talented director Pepe Herrero recommended to me the tone of a dubbing celebrity Pepe Mediavilla who has an exceptional voice modulation and interpretative ability. He asked me to be the voice of a Gandalf-like narrator from the masterpiece of cinema, music and soundtracks: The Lord of the Rings.
In Spain, the actor who dubbed Gandalf was Pepe Mediavilla, a well-known Spanish celebrity voiceover actor who recently passed away.
And between the two Pepes (Herrero and Mediavilla) and myself, we created the voice of this narrator that I show you below. This is almost a first for the readers and followers of my blog. Let’s say it had to be a young Morgan Freeman or the voice of a god. I don’t think I’ve done any better so far and maybe because I didn’t give myself as much as I should in other jobs. It’s good to improve every day in this job.
Enjoy this epic sound mp3 mixed and mastered by the Spanish master of soundtracks Pepe Herrero. And put on your headphones because we are going on a 1 minute trip to the world of fantasy in Spanish EU Castilian-iberian accent
And here are the results of the voice work
Let the drums of war sound!
You need to have a constant desire to excel. As I keep listening to the work, I’m still thinking about how I can improve it.
Then…

Be hired as a voice over actor. 10 must-have skills you should offer
A voice actor needs to have good audio demos for several reasons.
First, demos serve as a portfolio that showcases the actor’s vocal range and ability to perform various styles and characters. A strong demo can help actors stand out in a competitive industry and attract potential clients. Clients often use demos to determine whether an actor is a good fit for a specific project.
Therefore, having high-quality demos that accurately represent an actor’s voice is crucial. Lastly, since voice acting work is often done remotely (online voiceovers), a good demo is essential to convince clients that the actor has the necessary equipment and technical skills to deliver professional-grade audio recordings.
Voice Acting Tips. These qualities and skills are what you have to demonstrate in your audio demos
